What will become of us?? Will there be a Baby Boom in 2021?!`

In all seriousness, l am not making light of the very real threat and risk this monster poses to certain individuals. And for our family and friends in Italy and other countries, this really is NO JOKE.

But at the moment, I would like to concentrate on the positive things that I have seen so far as we navigate this crazy situation:

1-People helping people

From the guy who owns the Zoom Video Communications site (he is making the service FREE for schools so they can have online classes for students!) to the sweet notes I have seen floating around the internet where young, healthy individuals are offering help and support to those who need it. It is truly beautiful.

2-We, as a nation and a WORLD are remembering the importance of BASIC GOOD HEALTH practices

Like:

Wash your hands

(HappyBirthddaytoyouHappyBirthdaytoyouHappyBIRTHDAYHappyBirthayHappyBirthdaytoyou x 2)

Get fresh air and sunlight in your lungs and on your face

It is SO good for you!! During the Spanish flu doctors in Boston realized that if they put patients beds OUTSIDE their tents and let them get fresh air and sunshine, they had a better cure rate than those poor souls who did not have that benefit.

Eat Whole Foods and Drink Plenty of Water

If it never rots or goes bad, it's probably not good for you. Cut out the processed and bleached white stuff. Drink plenty of water (it doesn't have to be bottled, people). Right now we still have access to plenty of fresh, healthy food and water so let's take advantage!

3-We are all going to get to spend a LOT of time together with our family and/or those we live with !

So far this seems like a wonderful and FUN thing. (However, let's chat again in a week or so and see how everybody feels by then...heheh).

We plan on playing some games...some oldie-but-goodies like Yahtzee!! and Scrabble!! And some new ones I picked up in anticipation of lots of time together in the house. Oh. And we also got a ping-pong table!! It finally seemed like the right time. My kids are excited! (Only about ping-pong...definitely NOT about Scrabble. or the time limits I plan to impose on screen time. Sorry kids).

4-Time for ARTS 'n CRAFTS just increased exponentially!!!

'nuff said.

However you are spending this semi-quarantined, socially-distanced time, I hope that you remain healthy and positive in any way you can. Let's keep helping each other, practicing the most basic health care guidelines, playing games with family, and of course, being arty and crafty!!
