So for the first summer in a long while, I don't think I will get to go 'down the shore'....! Woe is me! Auito! UGH. Maybe something will work out between now and Labor Day, but it ain't looking good folks. Better planning, more savings, and NEXT SUMMER I will not be lamenting my lack of sun and sand.

First world problems I know. For sure. BUT there is something so restorative about being seaside.... The sound of the waves, the salt air, the breeze, the seagulls squawking and nothing to do but relax and drink it all in. Lovely! My fave time on the beach? Definitely after 4:00 in the afternoon. Perfection. And even better if after a couple hours, walking back to the house, knowing that dinner is ready and a lovely summer cocktail is waiting! (Oooohhh! next blog post! summer cocktails!! But I digress...)

South Jersey is my beach of choice, and many a story (some good, some, well, best kept to ourselves!) can be told of the trips and summers spent in Sea Isle and Ocean City over the years! Avalon, Stone Harbor, Strathmere, A-C, Cape May......each one its own little slice of heaven!

Found some great old postcards at my new fave shop (re: earlier blog post on Scrap B-more) ! I'm wondering where Aunt Mildred and Uncle Elmer stayed in Wildwood. The room and meals were only... "fine". Hmmmm. Hey Mil and El, it's better than not being at the beach at all am I right?!

Happy Summer everyone! Wherever you are, make the most of it!
